2021 All-Region Honor Band Information
2021 Indiana Bandmaster’s Association All-Region Honor Band
Congratulations! You have been selected to represent your school in the 2021 Indiana Bandmasters Association Central-South All-Region Honor Band to be held at Clark-Pleasant Middle School. The band will include seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students representing twenty area schools. If for any reason you will be unable to attend the performance and all rehearsals, please inform your director immediately so that another student who was not originally selected can attend in your spot.
You will be receiving a T-Shirt. If the size is not correct or there is no size listed on your school roster, please notify your director immediately. Also, please notify your director if the spelling of your name is incorrect. All changes need to happen as soon as possible.
This is a weekend activity, taking place on Saturday and Sunday. Students must provide their own transportation to Clark-Pleasant Middle School. The registration/lunch fee is $40. (Checks payable to CPMS) Arrangements have been made with a local restaurant to provide a lunch. If you have any dietary restrictions please email Mrs. Briel (kbriel@cpcsc.k12.in.us) as soon as possible.
Clark-Pleasant Middle School is located at 1354 E. Worthsville Road Greenwood, IN 46143. You must prepare all the included music prior to the All-Region weekend. We will be hosting a volunteer-only rehearsal on November 3rd at Clark-Pleasant Middle School for any students that want to get additional help on their music prior to the weekend event. This is available to any selected students but is NOT mandatory. We will be rehearsing from 6:00-8:00pm and will provide a pizza break during the rehearsal time. If you are interested in participating in the additional help session on November 3rd, please email Katy Briel (kbriel@cpcsc.k12.in.us) by October 29th so we can have pizza and space available for everyone that wishes to attend.
Please be sure to bring your music, a pencil, reeds, mutes, drum sticks, etc. to the All-Region Band Weekend as well as a mask. The spreadsheet that accompanied this letter will show your part assignment so be sure you get the correct part for each piece. Percussion students should view a separate list with part assignments for each specific piece. You might play first part at your school and we might need you to play 3rd for this honor band. Remember that a composer would not have written all the parts in the score unless they were all important to communicating his/her musical vision. It is very important to double check the spreadsheet and get the right part for each piece.
Again, congratulations on this fine honor. Be sure to invite your family and friends to attend the free Sunday concert. We are looking forward to working with each of you!
